For the weekend of the 7th-10th December 2001, we flew to Germany to visit Jennifer's Grandmother (who was also visiting) and other relatives who live in Hüls.

Omi and Jennifer reunited!
Here we are at a Christmas market in Kempen: Erika, Elisabeth, Jennifer, David, and Peter.
The geese that live at Hubertushof. They are vicious attack geese.
Jennifer watching Trudi at the chicken coop.
The chickens are very well fed.
Francisca and Oskar, the sheep.
Baaaaaah!

A tiny (and blurry) robin.
Hubertushof: Jennifer's great grandparents were the first of the family to live there. Trudi now lives in this house.
Another view of the house.
The beautiful wreath Trudi made.
Omi and Jennifer walking in the Hülser Berg.
Funky chickens.

The people of Hüls were all aflutter because a stork had come into the town and was hanging around in this field off the Steeger Dyk.
Another view of the stork. Coincidently, Trudi's son's wife had just had a baby...
Unfortunately, we couldn't get too close to the stork for a better picture.
The stork is flying away here. Trust me.
Looking across the Steeger Dyk.
More of the resident wildlife of Hubertushof.
Jennifer with 'Die Frauen von Jakob'. Jakob is the male peacock and these are his two wives. Please note that Jennifer is not one of Jakob's wives.

Tragically, at this point the batteries in our camera died. We continued to have a wonderful weekend though.
