Jennifer in the underground city tunnels, which were used to provide access to the lead water pipes for maintenance. They date back to the medieval period. There were 2 sets of tunnels: one for bringing water pipes to the cathedral and one for the town. Only about 20% of the tunnels are open for visitors today. The actual pipes were stolen in 1952 during the post-war rebuilding of the city.
