Dave in the woods as we hike from Bakewell to the nearby Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Derbyshire.
Checking the map to make sure we are still on the public footpath.
Jennifer climbing over a stile.
Walking through a sheep field. We didn't see much as our eyes were busy watching out for sheep droppings.
It's a little hard to tell, but the orange color of the trees in the surrounding wooded area was quite lovely.
Approaching the Edensor Village, the village associated with Chatsworth House. You can just make out the steeple of the church above the trees.
We liked the solitary clusters of trees.
It is such a quaint little village.
Chatsworth House! It took us a little over an hour to hike to there from Bakewell.
Walking towards the stables, now housing the cafe and gift shop. It was all decorated for Christmas and very charming.
Inside the Bakewell Silver Band was entertaining all the visitors.
HATHERSAGE
We visited Hathersage, a small town in the Peak District, on 1 September 2001. This is a view from the top of a hill.
Another view from the top of the hill in Hathersage. It was just us and the sheep up there.
